There are two main subjects in Rachel Miller's world: painting and yoga. She approaches both with courage and love that inspire people to see more and be more. Her dynamic character seasons her yoga classes with joy and enthusiasm and her paintings with color and emotion.

Since she moved to Sacramento in September of 2000, Rachel exhibits her work often in northern California. Her work has stood out in many group shows and, to date, made an impact in nine solo shows. Her portraits radiate with the individual's personality and light through her vibrant use of color and transparent manifestation of energy made-visible.

Rachel has been practicing yoga since 2000 and teaching since 2001. Arriving to Sacramento from Boston with chronic back problems and a false concept of yoga, both were quickly changed after she took a hot yoga class and became hooked. Rather than being a hippie gentle stretching class as she had feared, hot yoga challenged her physically and mentally. For the first year Rachel studied in several different Bikram studios in Sacramento and the Bay area. She kept running into people who asked her when she was going to start teaching and she would laugh and usually say "maybe in ten years," but fate wasn't listening to her response and she got phone call from a studio owner in Sacramento who told her that she was supposed to be the new teacher, and started teaching a week later. After an in house training at Yoga Loka, Rachel participated in a 200 hour Ashtanga training, teacher training levels one and two with Baron Baptiste as well as numerous workshops. Rachel now teaches primarily Baptiste style power yoga and Yin yoga (more of the gentle stretching style yoga she thought would bore her).
