Astrologers love to talk and therefore every year sounds exciting, intense, and life changing. It’s true,  yes, every year there are life changing events in our shared world, biographies and inner experiences. Every year we end up a little different than when we started the year and change is the only thing that we can count on.  That being said, there are major shifts happening in 2026 astrologically that has everyone in their own way reimagining, altering and committing to new things moving forward.  Collectively we are moving out something known into fiery uncharted territory. What I am noticing most about this are certain things need to end in order for the new to emerge. As I wrote last month and a bit ago, my role as a yoga teacher is changing. Last Tuesday when nobody showed up to the yin class, (which I barely promoted), I was giddy happy!  Don’t get me wrong I love the people who have showed up over the years and I love teaching but it has not been enough support to sustain it.  This spring will be my last semester of weekly online yoga offering for the foreseeable future.  I will be offering Tuesday yin yoga until the second week of June.  I will continue to be available for private events, special arrangements and conference if am invited.

For years I have heard time and time again that I am a wonderful teacher and I really thank you for the consistent feedback and occasional fan letters, because if I just measured my yoga teaching journey economically it has been a wild failure. I feel an incredible gratitude that I got away with working as a yoga teacher for so long and now feel sweet lightness to leave it behind.  There have been layers of realization in my long process of saying good bye to practicing the art of teaching yoga. First it really hit me on the fiscal level where I was getting paid the same amount of money for weekly classes as I had when I first started teaching in 2001, then I observed how tiered I am of trying to convince people to do yoga to feel better,  I then had a much more personal crisis about my own relationship to the practice and now finally I am ready to move on.

Moving forward I hope to meet many of you through my work with astrology, creativity and life!

January 2026

Dear Yogis, Star Lovers and Friends!

Happy New Year 2026 and what a time to be alive!

Here in Sweden the new year gifted us with lots of beautiful snow.  The pristine, luscious snow cover lasted far longer than usual with help of intermittent snow covering up whatever blemishes life marred the blanket with.  You see in snow all movements made by humans and beasts becomes visible, and you can follow the tracks of all your living neighborhood.  You can see where the kids ran up the hill and where they sledded down, you can see where the  dog peed, where someone stood for a while  and where someone was pacing around, or what animal walked around your house.  It’s all there recorded in the snow, recorded in the frozen water.  Then the snow melts and the tracks disappear, and we can no longer see evidence of all the earth bound movements surrounding us.   In studying symbology in esoterica, alchemy and astrology you learn that water has often refers to the spiritual world, perhaps the symbol of snow would be more fitting.  You see we don’t get any timeouts from walking a path with spiritual consequence even if we don’t believe in spirit.  Every step we take and action we make becomes part of the tapestry of our becoming and our legacy in the spiritual realms.  Every misstep becomes part of our karmic anatomy and every action born from love and creativity returns to the hierarchies liberated from materialism.  To remember the incredible truth of the power of being alive on earth minimizes our pettiness and redirects us to serve something higher than our mere comfort.

Counter to the absolutely stunning winter landscape and what it has enlivened in me the beginning of this year personally challenged me physically right away.  First, I managed to pull my hamstring while out exploring the massive amounts of snow the first storm left.  Second I managed to catch a cold a couple days later.  Suffering in my body left me feeling unexcited and down.  My daily practice was impossible and I felt listless and hopeless.  This was a reminder of how much our physical health effects our attitudes, aspirations and ambitions.  I am happy to share that I am feeling better, practicing again and inspired for new projects once more.  I will offer yin yoga once a week this season again, not sure if will be the last or not, I am moving away from holding any ambitions around teaching yoga as a means to my livelihood.  Or maybe this is just a sabbatical 🙂 we will see, but something is definitely shifting.  I know I am not alone in feeling like I am on some sort of threshold because astrologically we are in for big changes this year as Saturn, Neptune and Uranus all enter new signs, and Neptune and Saturn will be conjunct. The outer planets move so slowly that we feel them most when they shift signs or have some major aspect other wise they fade into the background of our awareness. The major transit of Neptune and Saturn’s conjunction happens about every 36 years but the last time they were conjunct in Aries was in about 700 BC!  You see Aries is the beginning of the Astrological circle and always celebrates something new coming to life. There are so many layers to these two grand archetypes meeting but one of the ways to harness their energy is by having a regular disciplined approach to creativity!  As AI attempts to take over all creative task we must start to learn more of why creativity is so important for human being and the hierarchies above us.  This is why I am offering more and more creative courses in 2026.
